What do I need to run 38's?
My truck: 2011 Ranger Sport. 2WD. 4.0L Automatic. 3:53 Gears.
Im currenty running 33x12.5R15 with a 3" Bodylift, 2.5" TT and 2" Shackles.
Im going to purchase the RCD 6" Lift for my truck that converts the front torsion bar suspension to a coil over suspension. So with my BL i will be running 9" of lift. Id like to run 38's wrapped around 20" rims. Please keep in mind that this is a brand new truck and stays on pavement. No mudding. I dont need lectures about how stupid it is to have a lifted 2WD truck the doesnt wheel. I just need some help. What should i be considering when running this setup? Can I keep my stock axle and just go with much lower gears? Any help would be appreciated.

If any of you actually read this, his truck is 2wd. RCD still makes their 2wd kit. And if he wants to run 38's, he will. What does it matter to any of you?
OP, RCD+BL+Gears and you should be ok. It'll be very tight though. I'd run 5.13's in your 8.8. You can't run any lower of a gear though in the 8.8.

To the OP, don't mind these people. If you want to run 38s, then go for it.
It WILL be a tight fit, and its possible that some trimming may be required to keep you from rubbing while turning.
And to everybody else, the OP asked a serious questions and didn't ask to be flamed.
keep it to a minimum please.

Not a problem. And like Dan said, you could always run fiberglass fenders/bedsides and have a LOT more clearance. As a matter of fact, there's a guy on here with an orange 4x4 who is running 38's with a 4" Superlift and 3" body lift and he doesn't have any troubles.

there is a reason you do not see many rangers running anything bigger than a 35" tire. your wheel bearings, ball joints, tie rod ends, and not to mention the spindles them selves were never meant to handle anything that size. its not a matter of will it fit, more like is it really safe. and im not worried about you crashing and burning, its who are you going to crash into and burn with you
