4X4 High problems.. can anyone help?

I have a 2002 Ford Ranger The Edge with a 4.0 engine. The 4 wheel drive is giving me problems when in 4x4 High. It acts like it slips in and out of 4x4 when driving. This does not happen when in 4x4 Low. Any suggestions?

I had this problem and all I did was change the fluid in the case and it was good to go. Start there.

i have a tcase and motor probably 150-175 for both my old tcase was fine b4 i took it out it just needs one wire replaced on it. the brown one like all the older case from what i have read but the motor alone will be 75 plus shipping. the tase fluid is easy to change. take that balance weight off the back of it and there is a 3/8s square plug take that out and let the fluid run out. place the plug back in and remove the top plug and i think it takes 4 quarts but idr someone else will have to verify that. I just filled till the oil came out the hole

you shouldnt need a new tcase maybe just a new motor. but let me know if you want me too i will find out how hard it is to replace the wire.
