is there anything else i can do??

Ok so today i just got through spending 350 dollars on the clutch slave cylinder on my 89 ranger. and thats not the problem, i still have to pump the clutch, so now, im top the, master cylinder, and i dont have enough money for a new cylinder for a while so is there anyway i can rig it, or stop the leak, without replacing the cylinder at least for a couple of months??

i just replaced the slave and master cylinders on my truck and apparently the problem that arose was the mechanic didnt vacuum bleed my clutch. That left airbubbles in the line and it still needs to be pumped. I dont think its your master cylinder its probably just not bled right.

I truct the mechanics that did the slave cylinder, They said at least that they bleed the system 3 time just in case and there is still a problem, but just in case how do i bleed it he rigth way just incase, so at least i know is thats the problem. Also in case it is the master, how hard is it to replace after i get the cash?? On my old camaro it was not fun at all. We had to hammer this stupid pin out of the master cylinder, and there were all sorts of extra little metal retainers that we had to cut out, it was less than fun. but anyway, how hard should it be on my ranger?? what exacty will it intail??

A new master cylinder for the cluthc system should not cost more than $50-60. You could also look into a rebuild kit for it, probably around $15-20. As for removal, should just be a pin insude truck and two bolts on the outside. No di-assembly of unit itself.

It has been YEARS since I looked at this system on my old 85 Bronco II, but from what I remember, very simple.

my mechanic said he bled it 3-4 times and the problem was still there but he never vacuum bled it.
