ok so sometimes my transfer case doesnt work. like when im on the beach and i want to go from 4 lo to 4 hi or even 2 i turn the switch and nothing happens. usually i get on to asphalt and then it works but other times i go down and wiggle wires even when im on asphalt. (not sure if its doing anything though) and i usually put it back in 4 lo and go forward some and keep switching it until it goes in to 2wd. is it supposed to be like that?

 

NO, 2wd-4hi should work right away no problems. 4hi-4lo you need to be stopped with trans in N and your foot on the brake. If it takes more than a few seconds you may wana get it checked out. You could have a bad shift motor or a bad switch or somthing like that.

 

Shift motor might be going out. Mine was doing that for a while and it finally kicked the bucket

 

2 hi to 4hi works perfectly but its when i have it in 4 lo that it doesnt wanna change.

 

You have to wait for it. Clutch, brake down and less than like 3 mph to get it to switch.
