transfer case

I have a 2003 ranger XL 2wd, and want to make it a straight axle and was wonderin what type of transfer case i need to get, like what truck already has it in it and what i need to look for

somethin' from a ranger or explorer...I think its like a 1335 or some number like that..

yea my dads rebuilding a transfer case from an explorer right now and it looks like a rangfer one and the running gear looks the same as a ranger, like the 4 wheel drive stuff.

Borg Warner 1350 or 1354 or an atlas are the only tcase's that'll mount up to the ranger transmission

and what straight axle do they mount up 2 or any kind?

You can mount any solid front axle you want to the transfercase. The Ujoints will be/ might be the issue depending on what you plan on putting up front. You can get conversion ujoints to fix this. Drive shaft length will also be a small factor.

you my need a custom drive shaft for the front other than that any front axle will work and the tcases above will work

Yuppp. a 1354 would be your best bet, unless you can afford an atlas. lol
