4hi/4lo lights flashing

4hi/4lo lights flashing 6 times, I have no 4wd, I have live axles (not vacumn), I cleaned the t-case shift motor. still no 4wd. any ideas?

It was your flux capacitor, if its fluxing (flashing), you are doin fine.....

Honestly tho, I have no clue..... Sounds like a short.

Try resetting the pcm.

Typically when the lights flash the tcase is stuck between 2wd, 4whi, and 4wlo.

check to see if the plug is mounted to the back of the 4wd selector switch securely.

I'll try the PCM, I havent messed with the plug in the dash at all. un underneath is secure.

well, I ended up taking it to the stealership, turns out it was the motor.

the shift motor?

I have the same problem on my '96. I just haven't gotten around to it. How much did they charge you?

it was the shift motor on the t-case, labor is a couple hundred for all the testing that I had them do and they only have brand new motors, hope you're sitting down, $400. I have bought a remaned one, it didn't work.

Damn! Whoever bought my one off my old truck got a steal then. I think I sold it for like $40 shipped. With 28k miles on it. lol

I know that those lights flashing is a DTC. You can take it in if you want to go that route.
