Can the 2-3 flare be ignored if it isn't annoying?

I think my truck, which has the 5R44E, may have the 2-3 flare. I use the word "may" because it has proven impossible to reproduce intentionally (the truck only does it when it wants to) and it does not happen that often, maybe every other day. When conditions are right for it, I get what could be a tiny flare during the 2-3 shift. It does not really affect my driving, but I have noticed it, so it is in the back of my mind. Will I be doing the transmission any harm by ignoring this? I really don't have the time right now to have the VB rebuilt, and I'd rather wait until the flare becomes an annoyance to fix it...I just don't want to damage something else in the trans by putting it off. Opinions? The truck has never towed anything, shifts fine otherwise, and had the fluid changed at 30K miles. It now has 56K miles and will be getting the fluid changed again at 60K. It has always had Mercon V in it.
