I'm pulling a little information from everywhere trying to figure out what the differences are between the 5r55e, 5r44e, and 5r55r. My tranny's giving me some issues from 1st the 2nd, going to pull out into traffic and it kicks out of 1st trying to find 2nd and I let the rpm's get to about 2,500 (thinking it's just the TC slipping) then BAM!.......there's 2nd, yeah we found it. So I'm looking at possible options for transmission fixes. I don't really want to dump a whole lot of time or money into the one i got just for it to do the same thing a couple years down the road. I do a lot of towing so I imagine that's what has been causing some issues. But any information on tranny swaps would be awesome. I got an 05 Edge 3.0 5spd. auto with the 8.8, anything with a lot more beef that can stand to be beat on a little.
