When I start my truck the 4WD light comes on and then off as usual, but when I try to engage it the light will not come on. I have taken the motor on the t-case off and it moves, and I can turn the t-case, any ideas on what could be wrong?

 

I am not that familiar with the electric shift T-case system but my manual had a switch in the T-case go bad and I was having problems with the 4WD light. I replaced it and the problem was solved. You could check out the connector to that switch also, if you have one.

 

While I was troubleshooting I jacked up my truck just to see if 4wd was working and I had a bad sensor somewhere, and it wasn't.

 

take the shift moter off and try swiching on the 4 wheel drive if the moter dont run check the moter to see if the brushes are in cood shape if every thing looks good u might want to check the module under the passengers foot well , mine went out and i ordered one from silverstatefordparts.com for half the price of the local dealer..
