axle and gear?
ok 1st question- do they make 4.30's for the front of my 98 ranger it has a 7.5 rear, i am planning on getting an 8.8 so i can get them for the rear and i need to know if they make them for the front, and my other question what would the best vehicle to take the axle out of?

4.56 gears with 35's ends up giving you about the equivalent of a 3.93 or so ratio -- better than the stock 3.73 most 3.0's come with. You can turn 35's just fine with 4.56's and not take as much of a hit in day-to-day use.
But again: manual transmissions are a whole 'nother deal. Still, the final gearing isn't that different so you're still talking about turning a lot of revs on the highway if you go numerically higher than 4.56.
