I can't find a straight answer for this. I understand just dropping the pan won't change all the fluid, blah blah.

According to my Chiltons manual, the 2006+ auto trannys are filled for life.
Agree/disagree?

If this is the case, I'd still consider dropping the pan every 10k or so just to change out some fluid and freshen it up.

If mine is required to be done (despite what Chilton says) should I go somewhere that can do it with a machine, or do it myself? When I worked at Valvoline we would do them using a machine, I don't remember specifics but I remember shifting through the gears, I assume to help flush some of that fluid out of the torque converter and wherever else.

So there, two questions basically. Do I need to, and how is the best way? I've heard so many mixed opinions I don't know what to think. I tow a boat on occasion so I want to keep it in check.

The truck has about 37k miles on it now, I've had it since 25k and I'm sure it hasn't been done before.
