you really need a 93+ axle because the 92 and older are narrower, just like Daniel said.

any 93-09 axle will work.

you should be able to find the said axle for around $100

the 7.5 is a good axle but the stock crosspin is notched and it makes it really weak.

and fyi, the 7.5 uses the same axle shafts as the 28spline 8.8

i would take his advice, sounds like he knows what hes talking about.
