new tires

well heres my next question, when i drive around on flat ground just cruzing, the transmission due to lugging around beefy tires, makes the rattling noise that you get when driving at about 800 rpms and letting the tranny just take the truck. its normal in all manual vehicles, and its not a spark knock. or detination. but its the sound the tranny makes when pulling off on a hill or with a load. but i get it at about 1500 rpms just cruzing. is this bad? do i really need to drive around at 2100 rpms?
