How much of an increase in horsepower do you get from the intake? I'm going through what you just did, I WANT MORE POWER. If I put it on my truck will I be able to finally drive in the fast lane?

uhm... none. or at least not enough to even remotely feel.
the only thing you might notice is a fractional increase in mileage per tank, and only then if its setup correctly.

sorry John, I wasnt trying to blackball your for sale thread.
Im also running a straight pipe intake on my 3.0l and when I first installed it, my gains were marginal at best. it wasnt until I isolated the cone intake from the rest of the engine bay so it was pulling in cooler air that I noticed an increase across the board, so I should have said "none unless setup correctly."

Hey, were all here to share knowledge of things we've learned. The KIPK II does have the heat shield. the set up works better with the jet MAF for sure. basically the jet MAF tells the engine more air is coming in, so an intake with the factory MAF will yield minimal gains. when you look at the regular MAF there is a bar in the middle. the jet doesnt have that bar. no bar = more flow = more power. the intake and the jet frees up at least 5hp at the rear wheels. the K&N dyno sheet says it ads 5 hp by itself, but thats in a controlled environment.
