Windows 7

Anyone else running it yet? Soooooooo much better than Vista in my opinion, its the speed of XP with the looks of Vista and more. The public beta is supposed to launch midnight PST.

Just nabbed it yesterday. I have it running in a VM at the moment (the 32 bit version), but I've got an extra partition on my laptop where I'm going to throw the 64 bit version hopefully today.

So far, I like it. I haven't played with it extensively, and I figure I'll know more once I start to use it regularly.

I'm forced to do a lot of virtualization anyway because of the way VPN client of mine works. I literally work out of an XP VM because of the lack of 64 bit support (we won't discuss why I hate Citrix).

BTW -- blhde, can you please resize that screenshot of yours? It's completely throwing me for a loop because you've got RF open, but also because it's obviously dual monitor. Thanks!

The public beta is coming out any time today, you can download it and burn it to a disc. I would partition your harddrive and install it on that so it doesn't mess up any of your other main OS. You can also run it in a virtual machine, I just like it having its on partition.

It has been placed on hold. Microsoft got such a large response that they couldnt handle the volume.

It should be back in a day or two.

The public beta is the same as the leaked, I just want the activation key. I have the cracked activation right now but I figured why not just go ahead and get the public one.

Here's the direct links from Microsoft:

32 bit : http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...FRE_EN_DVD.ISO

64 bit: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...FRE_EN_DVD.ISO

Should I get the 32 bit or 64 bit? Whats the difference?

Depends on the processor your computer has. If it's a dual or quad core processor, you'll get better performance from the 64 bit edition. If you have a single core processor, the 32 bit is the way to go.
