$3.00 grille... dosnt look too bad.

Hey guys, I know this has been done before but I thought I would share anyway. I went out and got some gutter guard to make a cheap grille for my truck instead of buying a $75 billet one. Although I would much rather have a billet grille, for $3 you cant beat it...

Wow, I really need to get rid of that license plate thing. I never noticed how bad it looked until I looked at that pic...

Hope that image posted above. Not sure if you site will host images or not.

Personally, I think that looks pretty good!

They make that stuff in stainless steel, I do believe -- is that what that is? Really, stainless would look good, last a long time, and I don't think it's cheap looking at all as it is.

Nice work.

Yeah I thought about it rusting before I installed it. Im not sure if its stainless steel, but it it isnt it shouldnt rust because I put about 5 coats of clear coat on it to make it a bit shinnier.
Thanks for the compliments...

I used gutter guard from Home Depot for mine. That plus the loctite marine sealant and zip ties was like $7. Worked out great. Still going strong after several submarine missions

I had to use 2 pieces, so I zip tied them together and put the zip tied part in the middle where the horizontal brace is to hide the ties. Then I just molded it around the grille. I didnt glue it or anything. It dosnt move due to it being pinned down against the grille and the truck.
