BII Cab Swap

I might have the opportunity to pick up a BII cheap, runs good, but the body's crap and the firewall's somewhat rusted out. I'm curious what all goes in to swapping the cab over, is it just unbolt it, lift it up, then put the new one on? Also, will a gen 2 bronco cab bolt up to a gen 1?

Well no. Think about all of the things that are attached to the body. All of the electrical connectors, fluid bottles, ground wires, the list goes on an on. Try looking under your truck to give you a rough idea. It will be time consuming, and you will probably have to deal with alot of rust.

Gen 1

Gen 2

I am going to hazard a guess and say that there is one minor change between the 2 that will cause it not to work...

I am guessing you are talking about a bronco II not a full size if so the bodys will swap out but you will have to un hook alot of stuff to do it but it shouldn't be to bad

Yeah, Bronco 2, not a fullsize. I kinda figured it was more than just the cab bolts, just wanted to get a decent idea of what all it would take.

I personally would probably just swap the engine, trans and transfer case. Lifting the body and moving it the whole way onto another frame seems like it would be a bad idea... expecially something from the 80s that has rust problems... And I'm just gonna guess that if the body and firewall is as bad as you say it is... I can't see the frame being in perfect condition either... So I would try and find 2 b2s... the one with the good driveline and bad body... another with bad driveline but good body... And make one good one... And you'll have a lot of spare parts if you do it that way.
