Silverstar Reverse lights

Well I was at Advanced earlier today and I decided to try out the Silverstar reverse lights. So far just putting them in they do appear to be a bit brighter.

Before

Left bulb is the Silverstar

Behind the truck you can tell a little bit of a difference.

Still not as good as SMD LEDs but for someone who doesnt want to fork out cash for the LEDs these would work just not as good

trouble is, reverse lights are basically designed to let others know your backing up. even though the bulb is brighter, it hardly lights up the road, because of the design of the housing.
but, more light is better than less light.

They've been discontinued for almost 2 years.....as soon as I saw them going back into stock at my store I bought a complete set.....brake, reverse, and dome lights....

They are awesome

Especially in 06 housings and mustang dome lights....big improvement over standard bulbs without going full LED

I picked these up at advanced a few weeks ago and they are great. After I removed my reverse lights these make up for a bit of the light I lost.

I've been thinking about ditching my LED reverse lights and going for the halogen RV bulbs.. I'm just afraid of melting my tails with them. With reverse lights, when you go LED, you better go to the biggest and baddest LEDs you can find. They just suck for reverse lights.

I have a nice pair of LED's in the reverse sockets. You need a good set or they don't do anything for ya.
