antenna help

hi. not sure this is in the right place... i removed my antenna so i could go through a drive through car wash. when i put it back on, i tightened it too much, and the very bottom of the threading snapped off. how can i get it out? do i need a whole new antenna or base? suggestions? :/

why would you take off an antenna to go thru a touchless car wash?

i knew someone who had theirs ripped out going thru one of these car washes...plus when i was pulling in, a sign warned about lowering/removing the antenna. also, pulling the mirrors in.

your going to need a new base unless you figure out a way to get the broken thread out? go to your local junkyard, shouldn't be too hard of a find.

I had a friend that used to install car washes and he said when those suckers pulled an antenna into they they would do some major damage. The worst part is that if they don't shut the thing down every cay that goes through will get wipped with that antenna. He advises never going to those gas station car washes.

it's 2010. any car wash that isn't "touchless" is 20 years behind the times. I would rather spend $20 and get a touchless wash than $5 and get one with nasty, dirty, brushes that wreck the paint.

i usually wash the truck by hand, but a bird took a pterodactyl-sized dump all over the hood. also didn't feel like standing out in 105 degree heat after a long day. probably gonna try to get the threaded piece out this weekend.
