Ack! I found rust

Tonight I finally looked behind my jumpseats and found tons of rust. The outside of the truck doesnt show any signs of it yet. What is going to be my best option to prevent it from going through? My first though was that spray on stuff that "turns rust into good metal" but I dont know if I trust that. I also thought I could (make a huge mess) and sandblast the area, then prime it and put some paint on. My truck is a 96, but I like it alot and intend on keeping it nice for a long time.

Yea I found the same thing behind my jump seats along with some gooey mud. I didnt really care that much so I just sealed up the outside and cleaned out the inside the best I could.

Before I put in my lift blocks I used this chemical that turns rust into something else (it actually reacts with it and turns it into iron instead or iron oxide), since I could not seem to get rid of it all. Then I painted them black. That was about 3? years ago and they are still black with no rust, my spindles put on at the same time rusted straight through the rust blocker paint that I put on them. I'll try to find out what the chemical was.

Edit: I'm pretty sure it was phosphoric acid or some product that contained it.

Strip the spots using a wire wheel on your drill, then use Rustoleum Rusty Metal primer.
