aftermarket tail light question

I was looking at getting some aftermarket tail lights for my stepside ranger, but had a question. This Ebay auction says that it will fit the 01 Rangers....but my tail lights have the reverse light on the top (see avitar) so I'm guessing these won't fit.

And these ones are decent but it says they won't fit a step side. Grrrrrrr lol
Are the step side lights different?

As far as the reverse light being in a different position, nothing a harness extension can't fix. Just get some wire and butt clips and you're laughing.

As for the eBay sellers and their "will not fit step side or splash models"......they are talking out of their @ss. All tail lights from 93 and on fit in the tail light hole. The lights themselves have stayed the same size and shape, just the bulb configuration (2 and 3 bulb set-up's, and reverse light position) and harness has changed over the years.

Those one's you linked to eBay will fit your Ranger.

This is not true. I thaught that same thing myself but when I tried to fit my TYC eruo's on my dad's stepside, it didn't fit. the opening and everyting is the same size but the inside part where the bulb goes, is too bulky and was hitting the box.

I want this style, but I've only got 1 tail/brake light bulb. I wondr if I could splice into the existing harness and just add another socket? I know both lights would act the same, but that might not be a bad thing.
