Bed Rails
Hey everyone, I have a 2008 and I ordered it with the bedrails in order to get the capped mirrors. However, I don't really like the rails but they're bolted on. I could take them off really easoily but somehow I have to cover the holes. Any ideas besides extending the bedliner over the top? I've also been told to leave them or paint them black... opinions?

The holes that would be left are on EVERY ranger.....they are called stake pocket holes.
But if you don't like them, you have a few options....
Bedrail/tailgate caps(with or without stake pocket holes), stake pocket hooks, over-the-rail spray in bedliner, or just deal with it.
Here's a few of those options on my truck....
Bushwacker Diamondback bed rail cap and tailgate cap...I ordered mine w/o holes(about $110 or so for all three pieces)....
Or just add these hooks...they are very useful and cheap(about $20). I cut holes in my caps and installed these hooks. There are MANY differnt styles to choose from as well. I likethese the best....
Or......JUST deal with the stake pocket holes!

I guess I should unbolt one and see how it looks. From the top it appears to go through where the holes are on larger trucks but my old ranger did not have those and if I look from inside the bed I can see bolts coming through.

i read your signature and wanted to see pics of orange and the apearance package. it looks good. that truck would look great with black rims and a nice agressive tread. forget the negatives. it looks good.
as for the bed rails, loose em'. your truck won't fall apart without them.
oh yea. next halloween, make it a truck-o-lantern. instant popularity status!!!!!!!

The bright is the same as appearance... must just be a new name. When I ordered it I told 'em I wanted the mirrors and grill and since they didn't have much info on the '08's (this is before they were even on the lot) he suggested adding both packages just to be safe... I think #1 is grille and steps and #2 is mirror and rails but i'm not 100%.
As for the truck-o-lantern, I told them if they could do it without messin' the paint I'm down, but they slacked off...

Goo dcolor, haven't seen one that colro myself yet.. haven't been to the lots since they rolled in the 2008's, I may just have to go down and take a peek at the new rangers, see just what they have different in them :-)

I think that is the first Grabber Orange on the site, I've only seen one and that was at a dealership in West Virginia, looks awesome! I'll be getting the same rails Shane has soon, I'd just take off your rails and throw some of those up there. Bushwacker has a couple different styles of rails for Rangers.
