roll bar with tonneau?

Hey I was wondering if anyone makes a roll bar for a hard tonneau. Something that would attach to the cover and retract when you raise the cover. Thanks.

I've never heard of such a creature, but you could always make one, somehow. Don't know how it would work since when you would lift up the t-cover the roll bar would hit the cab.

Why not just a regular roll bar, and cut the tonneau to fit around it?

Yea I was thinking of something where the bar slides up as you open the tonneau, kind of like a spring.

Because I couldnt open the tonneau then. It would hit the bar.

I kind of like the look of the roll bar. And it would be unique to have both a tonneau cover and a roll bar.

You could always get a hard t-cover and cut it in half and just make the back part bend up and just drill/ cut the holes in the front part of the cover for the roll bar to go into.

just do a roof light bar if you want a bed cover..

the 'roll bars' serve no use in an actual roll anyways.

Yea I would just get the roll bar for the looks, I know they dont serve any purpose in actual roll overs. Yea I already have a hard tonneau, and im not sure if I want to cut it at all. I was thinking of attaching the bars to the outside of the cover, and have a spring like thing so the bars could retract when I open the cover. I dont now if thats possible. Just an idea I thought of.

The real one like mine would do ya a whole lot more the gay ones most people get.

double single that extends to the back of the bed by the tailgate. Held in by two u-bolts to the frame at every corner. I hate the ones that only go back as far as the wheel wells and mount there.

ok. get a rollbar. then order a hard tonneau cover. take the cover to a custom shop, have them cut the cover so it is permanently mounted around the 4 bars of the roll bar. then, have the actual tonneau hinged just before the last 2 bars of the roll bar.

Yea thats a good idea, but I was seeing if there was a way to not have to drill into the tonneau. Like one that could bolt onto the top of the tonneau cover. I would probably have to have two different pipe sizes so one could slide into the other when im opening it, if that makes any sense.

You need like an Xploder roof rack. Something thats adjustable and will just let it slide. Imo it would look like butt though with the tracks sitting there in plain sight

If that would work.

You can get one of a S10 blazer that conforms with the roof.

you could get a bar that mounts to the bed rails and a tonneau that mounts between the bedrails
