ok i dont know if it goes here but hes my ?

I live in pa by pittsburgh i got a flowmaster single inlet dual outlet exhaust muffler back.. my problem its to quiet! i want to just dump the exhaust, when i say dump it i mean at the muffler cut the outlet pipes off and just run it that way.

Will it be louder? and will that pass inspection, well the emissions part of it? whats the law on the exhaust??

im not sure if this is correct but all i herd is that if its past the rear end your good?

Does your state say you have to have a tailpipe? Meaning, the exhaust exits outside from under the vehicle? Laws/Requirements are different from state to state. I know technically i'm illegal here in Oregon, because my tailpipe consists of a turndown right behind the muff.

Yea...it'll be louder...because the closer the end of the tail pipe is to the muffler, the louder it'll be. And It'll be significantly louder in the cab of the truck.

Which flowmaster do you have? I have a Flowmaster Original 40....the loudest one they got....and it's pretty loud, just how i like it.

 

i have a flowmaster 40 series with it cut and dumped at rear axle with a 2.5" down pipe and its pretty loud....there is a guy on here Alon he has his with a 3" or 3 1/2" run out before the rear tire and its even louder.......pics or vids just ask

Never had a problem with emissions with my flowmaster dual exhaust

 

when u say must exit the truck i can just exit it right after the cab right? before the rear end?

i dont think its the 40's series cuz the 40's series is like a cheery bomb size wise aint it? i think its just the regular one.

 

i have a delta series exiting right in front of the pass rear tire

 

you cant dump it in pa you have to have it exit the side or the back but you have to have it exit the truck i just read it in the pa inspection list because idk if my rust will pass. and i have to fix my exhaust to pass now too ugh i hate these laws.

 

also you have to make sure it exits i think 6" behind the passanger compartment

 

On the inlet side of the muffler, ther'll be a number etched into the case. Sometimes, it's stamped into side of the muffler where it says "flowmaster". Get that number, and i'll tell ya what flowmaster you have. A 40 series Flowmaster is either a 5x10" case, or 4x10" case, usually 13-14" long.......regular aftermarket muffler size, not "cherry bomb glasspack" size.
