paint quality...

so my hood has needed repainting since i bought it. looks like something acidic (coke or eggs, etc) was left on it when the prev. owner had the truck. theres no body work needed, just stripping the paint and repainting/primering all of it. my truck is just plain black, no metallics or nething and i was wondering how well it would turn out? like will you be able to tell that its been repainted or does it rele depend on the guy that paints it? the guy that ill prolly have do it painted the silver in the middle of my old GMCs door (2tone w/ silver in the middle and maroon above and below it). its a 93 and he did this about this time last yr and did an AMAZING job. he masked it off at the pinstripe and you cant even hardly tell it was repainted unless you look at the rest of the truck (not that it looks bad, its just smoother and shinier than the original paint. looks better, lol). he quoted me 200 to paint the hood about a yr ago. is that a good deal?

In my experience, having a hood professionally painted usually runs $300... so I'd say that you're doing well at 2/3 that.

Got pics? Unless the paint is flaking or peeling off, stripping isn't needed. $200 sounds fair.

I got quoted anywhere from $300 to $700 to have my hood, fender, and header panel painted. So I think that is pretty good.

itll have to be stripped. theres pockets/chips all the way to the primer. like 6 diff spots. it was white so when i worked at the carlot i detailed at i took touch up to it to make it less noticable and so it dont rust...
