Re-did my tail lights

So, as many of you know, I had smoked tail lights on my Mazda. I liked them, but got bored of the look so I changed them up.

Here's the process. *No installed pics til tomorrow.

So they looked like this. I had them tinted and also painted the black edge around them.

Cleaned right up with some laquer thinner...

Using my magic paint...

A nice shiny set of all red Mazda tail lights.

Took me about an hour from the time I cleaned them, prepped them and painted them.

I'll have installed pics tomorrow after I let them cure for the night inside. I think they're going to look pretty bright and shiny on my truck haha.

I was contemplating about tinting them again, but decided against it for now. If they look too bright for me tomorrow, I will tint and clear them.

that looks way cool, maybe ill do that to my stock tails just for the heck of it

I just wonder if it'll affect the light output at all, doesn't look like it would however

I just don't like the stock Mazda lights with the amber. And since they don't make any aftermarket lights for Mazdas, tinting or redding out is about all you can do.

No, it's transparent paint like Niteshades. The turn signal will actually flash red now and not look orange. I painted about 7 sets of B2200 tail lights for myself and some buddies using this paint.

so the fact that the light passes thru the yellow and then the red wouldn't cut it down any? Not that I'm knowledgeable on the properties of light but it just seems like it might not be AS bright as before, but maybe it's not enough to even tell with the naked eye

...just post pics of them all lit up!

I can't believe how good these look. Definitely an improvement over the stock and niteshaded taillights.

Lacquer thinner and a paper towel. Just rinse it off with water.

I have noticed that my tails now rather resemble 2003ish Ranger tails...

I'll have pics up tomorrow morning. From what I saw in the dark while installing them, I am pretty sure I am not going to tint them.
