Alrighty guys, my truck is basically black and white. dark black tint on a oxford white paint. Sexy right? Right. However, Ford decided that only a few parts should be grey(the front bumper and fender flares) whichm makes the truck look off color. Time to change that.

What paint will stick and look good on the fender flares/front bumper? I'm going for the same color black on the mirrors and trim.

get some of the Krylon Fusion, then cover it with a clear to harden it.......the fusion paint is designed to stick to plastics

 

^^^ works like a charm! I just used rustoleum's brand of plastic paint.

 

So a coat or two of the black krylon fusion and a clear coat of the krylon fusion?

 

Krylon fusion is good, i left it bare on my grille and it didn't start chipping until about 3-4 months after... If it were cleared, i don't think it would've ever started chipping. but I have the StreetScene grille now, don't have to worry about it.

 

under the fender flares, is it a normal fender or are there holes where the fender attaches. Just getting ideas in mind for when i get back to the states. i would look but my truck is in texas

 

x2 on the fusion. I used it on my interior pieces. works great except mine looks like crap b/c I didn't prep it right.

 

I believe there are holes underneath the flares.

 

My flares are grey also. They look to be attached with some sort of a one time use plastic tab. I wonder if there is a self tapping sheetmetal screw that would be better once you need to put the flares back on after painting. Thats something Im going to look into, someday, after I get a new tranny in.
