Has anyone tried this yet?

So I got bit by the mod-bug again and this time it's gonna be a little more challenging. I figured since everyone else is buying the plug and play kit I'm gonna attempt a retrofit.

I do not know whether or not this mod has EVER been done, but the housings I chose for the mod may suit this project.

I just bought a set of Angel Eyes off ebay, the actual BMW E6o units:

I'm gonna attempt to retro-fit a set of Hella E55 Bi-Xenon's (with hopefully the angel eye mod.)

into these housings

As of now Im doing some research on how to wire them up to work before I get them, I already know what I want. So far parts list are as follows.

1. Angel Eyes = $58.00 (bought 12/7/06)

2. Black or Chromed Housed Projectors (next week)

3. BMW e55 Bi-Xenon HID projects (still on the prowl for a decently priced set.)

4.Shrouds (buying them tomorrow)

The smaller housing has been demonstrated with ability to run actual HIDs but I want the true retro fit.

I may end up using the smaller housing for an axuilliary foglight.

I'll keep in touch with the progress.

I'm a little nervous since this is gonna be my first real DYI of my own taking.

i've considered it.. but for ~500 bucks- 700 bucks.. it's not worth it.

you won't find a bi-xenon kit (and think of the wiring too! GAH) for less than 4-500.

if you just want the projectors, it'll run you ~200. i dont' know. too much money for not a lot of gains..

but i'm glad you're doing this the "right" way, so that your HID lights will work correctly and not be too much of a distraction for other drivers (this is... considering that you will aim it correctly)

EDIT:

oh.. and i have angel lights in my headlight (i did them when i painted my housing).. i just don't want to wire them up... i think it looks dumb on a ranger.
