bull bar/fan shroud

bought me a black bull bar today and should be getting it tuesday, and i have a question. my truck has the fan shoud on it and i was reading a thread about taking it off, does the engine not cool properly with if off? reason i ask is cause i will have to take it off to fit the bull bar.

Huh??
The fan shroud goes around the cooling fan on the engine side of the radiator.
It should be in place to cool the engine properly.
There is no way you should have to remove it to install a bull bar.

Are you sure you're not confusing the shroud with the front valence which is mounted below the bumper ?

Ha Ha !
I just viewed your profile and see you have a 2007.Yea , I think you just confused the two.
Depending on what bar you purchased , I believe you may just have to trim the valence a little.

He might also be talking about the plastic "shield" on the bottom of the radiator. The Bull Bar mounts bolt into the same place this shield is, and if I remember right, there was some mention in the mounting diagram about removing this. I didn't remove mine. You can still bolt up the bull bar brackets without removing it.

RCL - what bull bar did you get?
Let us know if you have to trim the valance.

I am contimplating getting one of the ebay special bull bars but I do not want to trim or remove the lower valance(2007). I'd go without a bull bar before triming or removing the valance.
