Cargo Lights Q.

My truck doesn't have cargo lights wired up to the third brake light... If I buy a new third brake light WITH cargo lights, am I going to have to do some serious wiring through my truck to get them to function?

**There's only one plug behind the 3rd brake light case for the brake light and no others for cargo lights. What do I have to do?

I did this is my truck, all I did was splice the cargo lights into the dome light wiring so it turned on when the doors opened and the interior light were turned on. It's an easy mod. Good Luck

Gotcha. When you turn the dome light on while your driving, do they come on?

yes.. if you turn it on by the dash.. not the switch on it.. you want to tap it into the power wire that comes from the door and dash...

All I had to do was unplug the all red third brake light and plug in the new one and the cargo lights worked off of the dimmer switch. I then ran the wire to the dome light and now they light up with the doors open.

can some one post up a how to on this with pics? i was curiouse on doing the same thing. theres been many times where i have needed light in the bed and this would be an awsome mod. also where do you get the light holders that twist into the brake light? (the ones that hold the light bulb and provide it with power).
