bedside innerfender

Anyone ever roll or cut the inner lip on the bedside? i want a lil more room, i think it may have been a suspect in my cutting of a tire today. plus i want more flex, and no body damage, yet.

I know from what i've seen rolling a lip isnt that hard, but it was a nissan 240sx. I figure it would be the same thing on our trucks with the steel bed. The tool used is really nice.
