Fender Flares Take A Beating
Hey everyone,
I have had a problem with my truck throwing up sand, dirt and salt at my rear fender flares on my '06 sport 2wd. Last time it was in the body shop the guy gladly painted them for me and I installed splash guards (front mud flaps). They didn't seem to work as the yellow primer or filler compound he used is now showing on my red truck. My question is, has anyone else had this problem and if so have they found a feasible solution. I'm going to get them repainted with a new 3m clearcoat that is supposedly alot better and harder than the stock one (I know a paint guy and he explained it all, a bit beyond me though) so I want to protect them as best I can before I repaint them again. I'm running the stock 15" alloys and stock Wrangler RT/S so The tires don't stick out of the wells at all. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
