Icon5 Placti dip vs Spray paint vs poll on BL?

hey whats up guys. i need your input here. i got a tool box from a friend who could use it anymore. its a nice tractor supply tool box but the diomond plate is kinda faded. Once i get new rims im going to go with the black look. so i want to paint the tool box black but i dont know weather to use like a flat or gloss black or use that plasti dip on it or maybe a roll on BL. whats your input guys? what have you guys used? maybe you have a better idea thats fairly inexpensive

Bedliner will hold up better but I have plasti dip on my rims on the jeep and it has held up fine for 4 months.

If you're sure you want it black then bedliner, but if you want to see it first then Plasti-dip it. Then bedliner if you like it!

Not sure who it was... but it's easy to remove. Just peel it off!

Adam used it on his f150 rockers if I remember right. It has held up really well for me. The only hard part is that when you use tape you have to lay it down really fast, with heavy coats and then quickly remove the tape.

Yes I did. And I have had it on the rims on my jeep for 4 months and it has held up fine.

As for the tape thing, if you let it dry and then want to remove the tap all you have to do is lightly spray new plasti dip on by the tape to "wet it" and then peel the tape off.

Well bedliner hold up? I wanna bedline my toolbox, but i read on some other truck forums that it scratches off pretty easy and looks like crap.

a lot of it has to deal with how much prep work you put into it. even when its used just to coat the bed, the paint had to be scuffed up in order for it to adhere. i think a bunch of people have done it, the ones that were more successful prepped it well.

I originally sprayed plasti dip on my tool box, was a real pain in the *** to remove off the diamond plate. I now have rustoleum's spray on bed liner on it, holds up to a beating pretty well and hasn't faded yet, been on there for 2 years now.

Plastidip does hold up pretty well... I did the hood of my truck 6 months ago and there is no sign of peeling/cracking even after snow and ice built up on it.

I also did a section of the rear bumper cover on my Mazda. It lasted fine until I had the car Krown'd. After that the Plastidip softened up and came off so I removed the rest of it.
