i bough my b4000 new in 08 because it was 11000 cheaper than a new ranger it was december of 08 and for only had 09s. so i saved my self some money today its paid off in full. now i would like too switch the front end too a ranger. so far i have noticed that the hood, grill, headlighs and fog lights are diffrent. dose any one know what other body parts need too be changed too make my truck more ranger like. also i belive the front right and left fender are the same but im not sure.

if you guys could give me some good websites as too where i can get some ranger body parts what would be great.

 

the box is different, front bumper is different, fender flares are different, i'm 90% sure the front fenders are different, tail lights are different,

and to top it off, all of those front end parts, chances are they all fit together like pieces of a puzzle, so if the fenders ARE different, the ranger headlights/corners won't fit up next to them...

you are looking at a lot more than 1100 dollars in labour alone, to make your truck into a ranger... so much for your savings from the dealer...

 

i was not planing on changeing anything after the front fenders. i like the box and rear tail lights. i figured it would all bolt up because ford builds the truck/ it is the exact same with a few diffrent body parts. dose any one know for sure if the bolts will match up or not?

 

Keep the bad and tails, fab up a front bumper, aftermarket heads and grille and it wont look like a mazda lol

You need:

Header Panel
Grill
Lights
Bumper
Valance
Fenders
Hood

It'll all be a direct fit.

 

i stand corrected, i do like the b-series box, it's different, although i think they could have made the body line line up a little better... it completely changes after the cab, but it's in the same place... no transition

 

It's rather easy and takes maybe 4 hours to do, it all just bolts right back in place. I did it on my old 2001 Mazda B4000. The Ranger bed mounts in the same spot, but on mine I had a 3 bulb tail light and most of the Rangers have a 2 bulb. But the 98-00 Rangers ( I think ) had a 3 bulb which is what I just ended up doing. Also Rangers have a 2 bulbs in the headlight and 1 for the corner light, so you'll have to buy another connector for the turning signal in the headlight and splice it into your existing turning signal bulb.

Wont do you any good but there a complete front end off a 02 EDGE on craigslist for $400. Its even black :) Oh and it comes with a powerdome hood as well. Helluva deal fro someone like you, too bad your so far away.

what year is that front end its damn sexy basicly what i was wanting except i probably wont change the bed unless it looks real ****ed up.
also would this cause problems when getting pulled over by the police as it wont match my regestation very well?

 

It's the 01-03 front clip. I pieced it all together, but the front fenders are fiberglass fenders, factory Ranger fenders will look better than what was on my truck right when I did the conversion.

But the Mazda front end still looks good!

as for your registration, just tell them they are after market parts, and if they don't believe you, that the vin is right infront of you, just be polite about it, it will be fine...
