Since I am selling my steps I am probaly end up doing some type of sliders. Sorry Beard yours are sweet but out of my price range.

Option one.

Buy the same sliders as ty did from Off road inovations.


Options Two.

Build my own with square tubing to go along with my rear bumper.
Dont make fun of my paint job but that step will be angled down to the side or just strait out. Havent decided yet.

yeah, i would either stick with square or remake your rear to match. making your own is the cheapest way to go and you get exactly what you want. i say go for it.

 

I say make it yourself, but round tubing. Square tubing on a DD just looks unfinished to me... Just my opinion.

How do you figure? Any exhaust place can make bends if you take it to them and give them the bends you want... For a small price...

Yea.. That is not the hard part It would be the notching. to get the C to form to the roundness. Never have used round tubing. What would you use to get the curve?

 

Tubing bender for bends... And you can use a grinder to notch tubing, if you don't have a coping machine... Which they make several different kinds... At school we have one that's just a stand with a bearing, shaft and clamp that's adjustable for angles, that uses a drill and a hole saw... Those are about $150 if I remember right...

But our other ones is a belt coper, it's so nice, feed the tube in at the angle you want and boom... perfect copes :-)

Btw an exhaust shop cant bend the stuff i'd want my sliders made out of.

I believe they are Trail Gear sliders, the 78" ones out of HREW.

Ours looks a lil like this... It's a bit bigger than the one in the link, and comes with a few different dies for different tubing sizes... But has the same mechanism for angles and the feed feature...

Your rear bumper is square..... keep the rest of the add on's you plan on putting on the lower portion of truck SQUARE..

It would'nt look good all mixed matched...

a buddy of mine had square sliders and they worked Great! .120wall DOM.
and every thing else was tube..

^^ Thats a little out of my budget for my sliders lol.

 

I wish the previous owner of my truck had put sliders on it. The bottom strip below the door on both sides is completely smashed up to where you can barely even see them.

 

Here's another thing to think about do you really need sliders? I know they look awesome but you have to decide if you are actually going to wheel hard enough to warrant them.

 

I wheel 2 times a week. I think I need them.
