Never done it so I wanted to know the easiest way to get it off? Is it like the side emblems where its just help on by adhesive or is it popped in there? Thanks.

i did it not too long ago , some fishing line and some gloves and get in between the paint and the emblem start back moving the line back and forth , it will take awhile and not seem like its doing nothing , but it is and mine came off with no paint removed

Paint im not worried about at all. Im planning to spray paint the tail gate as its not matching currently and it seems to of been spray painted once before. Just trying to not make it as obvious. When you took it out was it only held on by adhesive?

are you talking about the 95 tail gate? mine is bolted on thought the tail gate. you have to take the access panel off and work your arm in there with a small wrench. loosen the nuts and it will fall right out. aleast thats how min is on

what i hell i have never seen one bolted on ever those pins are for alignment only.

all supposed to be held on by 3M tape.

Go somewhere that has autobody supplies and get a fiber stick or wedge preferably, then you can just get underneath it and pry it off, just be careful not to put too much pressure trying to pry it or you can dent your tailgate. Thats how i get emblems off every day at work and how I got my oval off my tailgate in about 20 seconds. Dont waste an hour and a half trying to cut it off with fishing line, then you also wont have any line up pins when you go to put it back on.
