01+ Headlight Adjustment

I know many of the members on this site have swapped in an HID kit. I'm trying to figure out how to aim the headlights down a little because mine shine right into most truck and SUV windshields.

I tried searching, but I didn't find a direct answer. If you have picture, please post those too.

Thank you.

Its in the owners manual. Theres a little 5mm (maybe 5.5mm I don't really remember) bolt on the top of the headlight adjustment screws. You just turn that

I can get pics if you want.

My manual doesn't have it. It just says to visit a Qualified Ford Technician.

But is the bolt where I described? Pictures would help if it's not too much trouble.

Did you get a picture yet? I still haven't had a chance to try the bolt, but I though I'd ask.

You may have already found this by searching but here's what the vertical adjustment screw looks like on my 98. I'd assume it's different on the 01+, but it should at least be somewhat similar...

Ok. Thanks a bunch guys! I'll be re-aiming them tomorrow after I attempt to mod the bulb itself.

That just aims up and down. I did mine tonight. I'm still not satisfied with my HID's, so when I get time I'm going to attempt to mod the bulb itself.

You're making me a little nervous saying that Tyler. I just got a set of HID's for mine but it's been in the single digit temperatures lately and I haven't had a chance, or the motivation lol, to put them in yet. I did the headlight mod and decided to go with the HID bulbs and see how they looked.
Are you getting a lot of glare or light refraction? i.e. light shooting all over the place? I know there's a way to adjust them because I've seen a few before and after shots at night of other members rides and the light actually looks pretty even.
Just curious what you were running into. Good luck and if you get it nailed down, let me know what you did lol

**EDIT**
This is Fx4Wannabe01's (Shane) 6000K's and they look pretty even to me and have a really nice output. Maybe shoot him a PM and see what he did to adjust his because his truck sits pretty tall anyways so I'm assuming he needed to adjust them.

Don't let me make you nervous. I bought a kit no one has really tried yet. It's a true dual xenon kit. If you bought the telescopic or just low kit you'll be fine with stock adjustment. My bulb doesn't sit exactly in the center of the opening so the light reflect oddly. With a low only or telescopic it centers itself providing a good beam.
