As far as looking right on a blue truck... I don't think this would look bad due to the color of the truck... I'd be more concerned about projection and color of the light. Any information on that at all?

I don't plan on doing HID's, so these appear to be the same as the stockers except for a black background. I wouldn't think it would bother the light output, but I might be wrong. They're SAE DOT approved.

There are a couple guys with blue trucks with these.

They are the exact same as OEM just black background. Just be sure to use a amber color bulb in the side markers

JP7 his is darker blue

OOOOOOOOO that might have just talked me into it lol. I suppose I could just bake my stockers, but that whole idea bothers me. I'm leaning towards the ebays.

Paint them black yourself if you want to save a couple bucks. Otherwise I would get them.

doooo it. the black will not affect your light output as the reflectors in the lens that project the light are not black. Now, if you had an older truck with sealed beam headlights and you upgraded to H4 bulbs and clear "euro" lenses with the black housings, then the light output would be significantly affected. I know several people who have used the black housing H4 lenses on older Mazda B-series and because the reflective surface is black, the light output is horrible because the black is absorbing all the light and not reflecting it like the chrome does.

So,you'll be safe buying those OEM style blacked out lights. And they's puuurrrrrrrtyyy

I believe Rolldogg just bought those for his BIB Edge. I think they would look great on that color.

here's what I was talking about with the H4 sealed beam replacements.

See how the entire inside of the lens is black? Very poor at emitting reflected light because there is nowhere for the light to reflect. Yes, they are a projector style with the fisheye lens, but you still need the rest of the lens to be reflective. I have heard VERY VERY poor reviews from these lenses.

Compare them to the chrome H4's which are fantastic. These are the ones installed on my old Mazda. They were amazing.

Good info guys. Thanks.
I'm sitting here pondering the oven thing...I'll have to do a search to see how long they need to be in there and what temp. Maybe I'll get brave later lol

I'm thinking the black corners wouldn't be very bright since there's no reflector housing....but they're really just for looks anyways.

the corner lights don't matter as much. in most jurisdictions, it is completely legal to not have any corner lights. as long as you have operational headlights and turn signals, you are completely legal. in your case, having corner lights that arent that bright really wont hinder anything. LED mod perhaps?

on another note, you should also smoke your tails or get some smoked or black aftermarket ones. It would definetly complete the look.

Something like these would go well. I generally don't like altezza tails, but they look good in the right application.

So I stopped by AutoZone on the way home and picked up some gloss and flat black. trying to decide which I'd like to try and use. Later I'm gonna do some homework and a search on here to read up on how to execute the mod lol. I'm pretty excited actually.

I really like the way blackedge's came out...That's the end look I'd like to go for. maybe some LED bulb replacements too for the corners.
