I drilled a hole through the bottom plate at the bottom of the stake hole in each side of the bed and two matching ones in the toolbox and threw a bolt all the way through each side with a nut on the bottom. Box will never move.

Mine is secured in with a variety of J bolt. I used a suitible length bolt, then welded a 3" length of angle iron to make the "J" shape. It's very secure, the load is spread out with fender washers inside the toolbox, and over 3" of the box rail, in four spots. It does not move.

Put two J hooks per side. There is no way a box is big enough for J hooks not to work. You can't fit that much stuff in there.

I used self tapping screws. I have line-x in the bedrails so it doesn't matter to me to drill into the bed, even if I remove it, it's not noticeable
