I got some cheap ebay tail lights and i have a 2000 ranger and only two bulbs but the tail lights i got have the three bulbs in the lenses and i wanted to know how i could plug the third hole?

 

Try the search function there are a few threads on this. You can go to a JY and get the two sockets for about $4.00. I think the socket would be a turn light one from about 94-99 or so. Someone will correct me on that. Then splice them into your running lights or whatever you like.

 

go to your local auto parts store and get a single filament bulb and socket, then splice it into your brake light bulb.

make sure you get a socket that fits right, some are really loose and fall out.

then when you push the brakes, it will light up, same thing with the turn signal.

 

they dont have to work i just wanted to know if there was something i could make to fill the back of the hole because its not used and not really needed

 

a socket for a bulb should plug that hole up. In my truck I got a tail light harness from a 96 ranger and it has the wiring for a three bulb set up. There is a plug in on the frame at the rear of the truck where you can unplug your current harness and put one configured for three bulbs. This will give you a separate bulb for blinkers. You should be able to pick one up at a j/y cheap, but if you don't want to then you can put a socket in the spot.

I just put a piece of duct tape over the extra hole on each side, you cant even tell theres no bulb there or that theres tape

I was going to say the same thing.
I think I have seen OEM lights(might not have been Ford) with some paper tape covering unused hole(s) in lights before.

 

its a cloth tape, but yeah.

it would be kind of retarded not to use the other light, it would be simple to hook up.
