my brother just got one for his explorer and was telling me about and i thought he was kidding when he said it was only 90$. it seems pretty solid from what hes told me. i think i know the first thing im gunna buy for the outside. altho i think u need to drill into the bumper to put it on. ill ask him when he gets on about that

Hmm, not sure how well that would hold up if you hit anything. i'd hate to see if get pushed into your front end after hitting a deer or something. If i was gonna put something on my front end for protection, it would have a whole lot bigger than that. Even the Waag bar looks alot sturdier than that.

and gives maybe a more rugged appearance

THIS is the same bar that is on my truck

This bar only cost me $75 plus shipping NOW when I ordered this I only thought I was cosmetic and it really wouldnt hold up to any thing much WELL I was WRONG!!! This is right after I Hit a Grand Am doing 50mph!!!!!!!

As you can see all it did was chip some paint on it, I know this bar SAVED my whole front end and there was NO damage to my paint on the truck or body panels because of this the only thing that was really affected was that stupid plastic valance. up the top first pic I posted was before the accident and the second once was after, YES thats right its still the same bar just some touch up paint and some rubbing compound and it looks brand new. So you might think these are really crappy bars well guess what that $75 dollar push bar saved me from replacing my whole front end, O and for the grand am it was TOTALED it didnt get repaired.

Ok for my app you have to drill 4 holes in the bumper and bolt it down with 4 grade 8 bolts they give you. now I didnt care about the holes becuase you can get my bumper new for like $100 and bolting it to my bumper is better then your guys with the newer trucks there stronger

I never said it looked cheap...but think about what happened to Doc and his MASSIVE pre-runner bar after literally going up and over that poor Honda. Maybe you just got lucky, but I thought there would have been more damage. I don't recall you posting about it, however when it happened.

Nah, it is a pretty strong bar, I'll give you that.

That bar looks weak with the flat pieces of steel, but looks like it's a keeper and a bumper/front end saver (tested at 50mph)

I say it's all in how you hit it. I've got a brush guard that is arguably more sturdy, at least from the looks of it. Meanwhile I've smacked it up pretty good just nudging a few wrist and arm sized pines around.. These things are mostly cosmetic guys! Don't count on them to do anything but look cool.

^ im with stupid (couldnt find the smiliey guy)...if u hit a vehicle or object square and about the same height then the impact is going to be direct and the bar is going to take it. hit something higher or lower and u'll see. i wont argue it didnt do its job of protecting the front end. id rather have one that bolts to the frame.
