bedliner
well i just bought a 03 ranger fx4 and it needs a bedliner. the truck is white and i think that it looks good with the white bed so i would really like to get a white sprayon bedliner but i heard that they werent as strong. i was wondering what type and color everyone thought. any input would be helpful. thanks
here is a picture of the truck

I personally would say no to a spray on bed liner, because I feel with an actual bed liner it provides more protection to the bed since it's not attached directly to the bed side, it can move around a little bit and help stop heavy things from denting your bed if they slide around and smack into the sides.

id do it over the rail, but it does add to the price. its nice to have that extra protection on the rails but if youre not going to be throwing stuff in over the rails you could probable do without it

drop in liners actaully do more damage to the bed than anything else. they trap dirt, water and other crap under them. they rub the paint off the bed causing rust. plus nothing slides around my bed with the line-x so you dont worry about that. the line-x is so strong it actually adds the the structural integrity of the bed. drop in liners are a thing of the past IMO. just my 2 cents

I agree nothing moves around in my bed. And yes drop in bedliners will drap water, dirt and whatever else underneath them. I paid $750 for mine which was line-x and over the rails plus extra-x. Still looks like new and I don't have to worry about my bed every rusting. Oh and the Military tested it to be Bomb proof says so on their web site.

Weird, when I was younger my dad had the same bed liner in his F150 for 15 years, it was always parked out side and when the truck was written off we took the liner out and it was fine. Also about nothing moving around in the bed, when you turn sharp enough that things will slide around is when damage will be caused.

If you want rail lining of some sort, you could always look for the optional ones that came from the factory or go with an aftermarket product. I have worked with ODOT (Ohio Dept. of Transportation) and all the trucks had them. I would throw any and everything into the bed and not worrry about it. Line-x is kickass!

yeah the price varies. all depends on the dealer. i had mine done for 250 but that was a deal i got becuase i had my trailer coated previous and he told me hed hook my up if i did my truck. plus no over the rail either becuase mines a stepside wich makes it cheaper. if i recall over the rail adds 50-75 to the cost. the average around here is 350-400

Def. do over the rail. Don't cheap out when it comes to this. Line-X is very tough and it's very hard to dent the bed with it. I've thrown multiple large and heavy objects into my bed such as bricks and what not and never had it dent at all. I wouldn't get rid of my bed-liner for anything.

about the plastic drop in bedliners.. my 93 ranger has one, i pulled it out and its staying out... i hate em' **** slides around WAY too easy.. like even racing mowers and stuff that sized not just small stuff,,, god you cant even think about putting a gas can in the bed and it will slide around..
here's mine.. i want to eventually put a bedliner in mine too, but line-x is too pricey for me. i can some stuff called "zolotone" its kinda like a liner, harbercraft (they make aluminum boats) and they put it inside of their boats to pretect it.. unfortunately i cant get it all one color and i dont want grey in my bed. soo.. for right now im just throwing some mats in it.
when i first got the truck. its a "pendaliner" friggin slippery stuff!!
