Roll Pan.

Ok, I have decided I might get a roll pan since my truck hasnt gone into get painted yet. I was looking and there is a company here in Dallas that would allow me to order from Ebay (really cheap compared to their own website) and come pick it up and not pay for shipping (will have to pay tax).

Here is the link:

Think this would look good on my truck?

I thought about how much I actually pull a boat and how long the bumper makes the back of the truck look. I would rather have the roll pan =)

you will have to get a new hidden hitch if you get a rollpan on your truck, also I would co witha metal one instead of fiberglass, I like the simple look.

Yeah, I was just told that by my Paint guy. So I am going to shop around instead of quickly getting one.

If u go with a metal one u should check ur rear fenders and see if they are metal also if they are get them to weld the seams on the rollpan and that will give u the molded look and make it look very clean.

I wouldnt mold it in if you ever wanted to pull a boat in the future. Also just in case you ever wanted to go back to stock. All stepside beds are fiberglass, so you would need a fiberglass roll pan if you wanted to mold it in.

Go look at the back of your bed where a roll pan will mount, you should se something like these...

If you put a normal roll pan on those will be sticking out. You can always opt to have a shop cut those off, then repaint the back section of your bed then do all the work with the roll pan but thats just a little much.

Luckily Sit Michaels carries a roll pan that his 'wings'. All you have to do is get the shop to cut off the tabs, and then the roll pan will overlap that section so you wont need to get it painted. I believe Q has this pan on his truck. Good luck man...

Zero, I got a metal rollpan and it's the SirMicheals one ur talkin about and it does have the wings on it but on each on of those wings there are threaded studs (2 on each side) and I dont have any idea where these would mount at so i just knocked em off, ive also cut off those tabs on my bed and done some temporary molding until I can get the shop to do it the right way and im having them mold mine to my rear fenders.

man o man

those wings on the pan with the 2 studs on each side are there for a reason

you wack off the tabs from the bed, and drill 2 holes on each side and the rollpan's studs go thru those holes and you throw some washers and bolts on...

those orignal tabs are what holds the besides to frame, and if you whack them off, you need new support, which thats what the rollpan does...

sure hope that makes sense

Oh, and I would get a Sir Micheal Steel Pan, or a Mar-k steel pan, some of the best pans out there

Ah, I wondered what those things did, but my back fenders arent loose now even without the tabs. As for the wings on my rollpan they gettin cut off and im havin the body shop mold the rollpan into the rear of the truck so it looks to be all one piece. I did some prefitting on my rollpan b4 i knocked the studs off and the holes would have had to been drilled in my fenders which I persoanlly dont want drilled into since they are fiberglass, also those wings over lapping the sides of the bed would look horrible in my opinion.

I plan on getting a Mar-K rollpan when the money is in the budget, but I think some cash is going to be diverted to the powertrain team before the bodywork gets funded again.

Uhh heres the roll-pan I have. Its gotta 'gelcoat' as im told on it. I bought it over a year ago and its just been sitting. Fits stepside bed and its fiberglass.

Would love to sell it... will update tomorrow with a price, it wont be much. Rear end ate itself alive so I gotta pay for it somehow... I hate unexpected expences...

EDIT: WOW I'm freakin dumb... I thought your bed was a stepside... sorry for wasting your topic space.
