Doorless??

Hey guys ive seen some good ol rangers with no doors kinda like a jeep. Im pretty sure i read a thread somewhere about the door removal and somehow using a trailer hitch pit as the door pin to insure a quick removal of the door when wanted. My 91 is manual locks and windows so i know i wont have to mess with any of the wiring. Just wondering if anyone else has done this or has any info on it. Also is there any companies that make like a swing gate bar so when the door is off you can use it? - Jay

Do you have speakers in your doors? If so you have to worry about those wires. Just pull em off and take some pics so we can see how it looks.

It can be done, but I'm not sure if they sell anything for it. If you have any welding skills, or know of anybody with them, you could make yourself a set of half doors from a set of junkyard doors.

^^^^ Thats what I was thinking, that would look pretty sweet to have a set of tube half doors on there.

for those speakers i can just get a quick disconect of some sort. and im thinking it wont be too hard to weld up some kind of half door or swing bar. hmmm i'll have to check it out if it even stops raining here lol

I would definitely go with a half door and not a tube door, it looks alot nicer, and gives a bit more protection.

No I don't. The ones I'm thinking of were made by my buddy for his Bronco. They're just stock doors that are cut down about halfway with a plate welded over the top and a button added on to pop the door open.

I like those 2nd ones that Need posted, those were the kind I was talking about. I like the jeep half doors, but I dont know how those would look on a ranger.
