started putting in a do it your self bed liner

my friend just bought a 93 ranger last night and the first thing she wanted do was something to the bed and didnt want to pay alot so i suggest about a do it your self bed liners and next thing i know that at my house and said lets get started and since i had a bad day i figure this would be a great way to end day.

we tried to get the cap off but the bolts on the c-clamps broke and need to figure out a way to get them off but thats on tomorrows plans of things to do. we put two coats on and it still needs other but it was getting late so we decide to finish tomorrow after we get the cap off.

Do you think it's worth it? I'll be curious to see how it stands up to time.

999% of people regreat putting a roll on liner in because it doesnt go in thick enough as a Rhino/line-x plus in a way the Rhino/line-x pay's for itself because of its life time warrenty. but it does look better then it did.

It's great for very light use....I would say more as a rust protecter. If you want to haul stuff go rhino

we used herculiner. she really doesnt plan to haul to much stuff its more of a rust protecter because alot of the paint was scratched off to the bare.

My dads truck has hurcluliner and yea its really thin and wont hold up to much beating, but he doesnt haul stuff so like Ryan its just for scratch prevention and rust protection... but for the 50$ that you spend its worth it IMO

Umm, you're extremely wrong.

I have herculiner, it has some scratches and ****. I pay 30 bucks to coat any little scratches. The ppl who get the professional liners either are rich or get their daddies to do it for them.

In NO WAY does Rhino/Line-x pay for itself. My truck isn't going to last my lifetime for one thing. the do-it-yourself stuff will probably last the lifetime, with 60 bucks in patching stuff.

so, <200$ for a lifetime no warranty do-it-yourself bedliner
or
400-600$(i may be wrong on price, but its still damned expensive! unless you got hooked up) for a liftime warranty on a great bedlinger?

That 200-400 dollar savings(and in reality ppl are going to pay the 100$ and be set for life) can go towards much better savings.

First of all, we don't regret it, second of all, if we did have regret, all we need to see is that wad of 300 bucks we saved, and your poor ***, to be happy again.

Sorry Zach, your product placement and dissing of everything else gets on my nerves. Everything but lightbars and tires im gonna grill ur *** on

for one do price checks before you open your mouth i walked into a Rhino dealer here and was quoted $275 for over the rails and life time warrenty....explain to me how thats bad being its over a 1/8th inch thick of coating

plus look at it this way you do it once it cost $60 as he sayed. it gets scratched up so then you spend $60 agian now you got $120 into it. then it happens agian....you get the point.

read this post alone there are a few people that have the roll on's and dont care for them also Zoom has stuff that I use in a can spray form for parts and he hates it, its flaking off. then there is dave in Chicago i saw his roll on its peeling and crap and doesnt look good. say what you may i have never seen a roll on out preform a spray on. hell if you have post away i dont care.

and about your "grilling" my *** how about you do something else with your time then wait for me to post about my "hating" products....its called opions if you have a problem take it up with ME PERSONALLY not here. being I have never Hand SELECTED you to ***** about....

and also if you didnt notice i take it. I also complimented him on how much better it looks guess you didnt read that. and for your infomation i didnt even know who the hell you are so how can i ***** at you all the time i have never really payed attention to you till now...

youre being ridiculous.

theres a REASON that linex/rhino is $275+ and herculiner is $50.

rhinoliner and linex may be more expensive, but at least it doesnt look like someone shat in the back of your truck and smeared it around.

if youre trying to save cash, good for you. just because youre poor and can't afford linex doesnt mean you need to label every linex/rhino customer as "rich" or "supported by daddy."

if my ranger needed a new paintjob, i could get a really nice job and drop $7,000+, or I could get a local $hithole special and pay $399. I may feel good about all that cash i saved, but at the end of the day, its still gonna look like a $399 paint job.

maybe youd be happier with some extra cash and a truck that looks like $hit. more power to ya.

Your trucks 4x2 buddy. Works like **** :) More power to ya! And I can afford linex, right now I could afford a RCD lift, its just not worth the money.

Oh and to the paintjob, depends what it is. If it was my truck, I'd pay a few thousand(bu 7k? That's the best deal you can get? you don't know what gettin a deal is do ya!). I actually have dmg on my truck in the back corner, I'm looking for a new bed for my truck, so I might need a new paintjob.

Oh and Zach, normally I wouldn't waste my time(im on work break right now) but sure. I'll post a few...

Ok, I jus got owned. 5 pages of his posts and I found nothing. Sorry Zach, you're right. But think about Fomocoedge's post the other day.

for one that post you quote is something between me and leo that has been dicussed OFF THIS BOARD that you know nothing about so you might want to take your foot out of your mouth also just to let you know you might want to read the rules with what your doing on this open board

Public bashing of other members is not acceptable. Expect FEW warnings on either.
go ahead and keep it up... if you have a problem with me do as I told you before up there ^^ that you didnt seem to read DEAL WITH ME PERSONALLY....go ahead...

Ryan,

The stuff you put on after it sat overnight might not stick to well (I know from experience on the bed rails of my truck)

As of durability I know several people who have it and use it in cunstruction trucks and it holds up fine. mine i do drag quite a bit in and out and its holding up great, and the lifetime warrenty crap, if you contact herculiner and tell them they will send you a pint to touch it up for free.

To me if I had to do it again I would do the herculiner again, I actually think it looks better than the line X/ Rhino crap
