no mine didnt come with a shell. with mine i had to take the inside grill out which it broke so be careful if you want to keep it. then i drilled some holes in the shell at the bottom and some at the top right behind the shell. mine was pretty easy. i can get pics but it will be a few days, parents took my camera on there trip.

04blackedge, pay attention: On 07 (maybe 06 as well?) the stock outer ring/shell is NOT a separate piece from the inner grille like on earlier models. The entire grille assembly is one big ugly *** piece, no way to set the billet grille into the shell cause it's all one piece.
Don't blame someone for your lack of researching. Should be able to tell by the thousands of pics on this site the difference between a 04/05 grille vs. 06+.
I ain't hatin', i'm just sayin'.
