So my step bars were pretty scratched up and a few bits of rust on them. Been wanting to do this for quite some time and just now got around to doing it. I used Silver gloss engine paint i had from when i did my rear diff cover. ill be putting bed liner over the actual part you step on. i think it helped the look a little bit. anyway let me know what you think.

thanks lazler. yeah its an overplayed combo but i love it. im thinking about doing the power dome paint scheme on it cause i can get a deal from a friend at a body shop.

I like it but it looks like you didnt pop the pads off did you? its real easy to get them off

 

well i was pulling on the side ones and it wouldnt come off and i didnt feel like breaking it. i didnt know the top part came off


whats exactly is the best way to get them off? screwdriver and pry it off?

 

Do it!

 

start from the corner put a screw driver under and get it started then with another leaving that one in pop the next. then take the first and go pop the next while leaving the last one in to keep tension can have it off in like 1-2 min

 

alright sweet. ill have to take them off with my friend sprays bedliner next time and ill get him do do it in gloss black bed liner

well i took off those pieces and painted them with bed liner. im letting them dry right now so ill have pics tomorrow with it fully complete

Looks good, but i never understood the reason for a stock 2WD truck with 235's to have step bars. unless your only 5'0" tall.

 

they were on there so my mom and grandma could get in. they are like 5'- 5'4" im 6'. bit i figured id put them on cause ill probably need them when i get my body lift on and 33"
and they kinda make the truck look a little bit better.

but here they are in there new bedlined glory and touched up paint

I took mine off because they were getting nasty and one was missing a plug at the end. Might clean them up and keep them in case I decide I like them again.. haha
