Icon5 Can this possible fix my Line of Fire?

So my LED line of fire thing only works when you use the brakes or turn signals. It does not come on at all when I turn my headlights/parking lights on. It still also lights up when I put my truck in reverse. So here is my question.

I went to Wal-Mart bought a new plug and if I wire that up do you think it will correct the problem? I use Dielectric grease on the connectors and wrapped tape around the connectors to keep debris out of the connector any other ideas to maybe prevent this problem again in the future?

yes your plug might be all green.. but try checking the LOF to see if its the problem or the harness. jumper wire it.. also test light the plug to see

lol.. no prob... idk if what i said was clear..

like take a test light to the plug to make sure its ok..

and try jumper wiring the LOF to see if it will light up unplugged..

like my plug on my 2000 was all nasty. it was causing a fast blink on turn signals when i bought the truck and it wasnt even plugged into anything.. had to rewire it..

yeah the plug on my truck is fine its the plug on the LOF that is all jacked up. So I am going to try to rewire the LOF and see if that helps out at all. Should have made that clear at the start. Because I pulled a trailer with my truck and the lights worked great on that trailer so I think it is just the plug on the LOF.

The trailer light plugs have a habit of going to crap. All the salt crap from the winter will destroy them.

LOL I learned this lesson the "hard" way in the military working on radios and everything else. I am going to resolder them and put some heatshrink on them as well is there a such thing as a "water resisent" tape other than electrical tape?

AHH the joys of living in a northern state....lol
