Yeah flowmasters sound great at drive thru's..niiiice and rumbly.. im gonna keep lovin my flowmaster till i hear something better sounding (performance muffler- not a vortex or w/e), i have yet to hear a borla on a 3.0L, and i heard a magnaflow on a 4.0L and thought it sounded like crap IMO but i guess the 3.0L and 4.0L have different tones.

Here's some shots from the underside. He custom bent it from the cat back. He does alot of work on race cars too. Everyone told me he was the guy to see...I'm not dissapointed. He even hung it right, it doesnt bounce around at all.

You can see the pipes are fairly close to the hitch....they were vibrating off of it when I got it home.....nothing to cause a big stink over. I removed a little material from the corner of the hitch and that solved the vibration. That little gap between the hitch and the pipe is pleanty of room now. It just proves how much it doesnt move around to only need that much room between the pipe and the hitch and it still doesnt vibrate.

If you need anymore, shoot me a PM.

as far as pipes and tips go you want 2 1/4 inch pipes with 3 inch stainless tips if you go with the 40 series single in dual out since you have a 3.0... it is very loud and has a good deep rumble

I've honestly never heard a Borla on a Ranger...just a vette...and it might sound slightly different lol. The only ones I personally have heard on the 4.0's are the Gibson and the Flowmaster 40. I know Borla makes an awesome exhaust so I don't think you could go wrong with them either.

As far as the tips changing the sound, I believe the larger tips give you a deeper sound....more of a low rumble. I'm sure someone can explain that better then me. lol

Thanks for the comments BTW. It wasn't really cheap, but I knew it'd be done right and that was what I was worried about. I see alot of trucks in town with duals, one without a tip, one lower then the other one, one completely crooked...drives me nuts lol

I have a Borla Pro XS on my 3.0L and I like it better than the flowmasters around town. I have Dual 3 inch rolled tips and it has a nice rumble to it. By the way I bought the muffler off ebay for cheap and had a local shop put it on.

hey, thats where i submitted mine! when i had my old flow 40 si/so, its the one that says 2000 ranger. It has a deeper sound now that i have the si/do, but its not as mellow up in the RPMs as that muffler was
