Not Another Roof Light Bar Thread......

Well it is, but before all the people that don't read and just go on a powertripping SEARCH rant.......please read for once. I know it's hard to get the children to settle down, but sometimes the grow-ups need to talk.

AND DO NOT LINK ME TO THE KC THREAD......BEEN THERE DONE THAT!!!

Now with that out of the way..............

I've seen roof light bars that have rubber coated hooks that just attach onto your door jam and you can still close the door. I seen one member (on a site which I can't remember) that had this type on his 01-03ish year Ranger just where the supercab door are. I seen the KC type, but drilling a gutter kit onto my truck is out of the question.

Not sure if I'll even be going the light bar route, as my truck is a 2wd and I don't venture into the wild all that often, but I was just curious if any members in here knew what I was talking about.

Once again, DO NOT link me to the KC thread and READ before you post.

I personaly only think light bars look good if you live in a red state and have a gun rack on the back window!

I swore i seen the clip in kind with the rubber and not the screw in type. I searched today but came up empty.

Guess the only type is the mount type.

I always thought it would look cool to retrofit the roof setup off of the jeep liberty onto a Ranger. Dont know if it would be wide enough but if it was even close I think it would look sick...check it out >>>>

It would probably look good.
I have seen it on a comanche truck once.

I like the low profile design. Im not a big fan of the light bars that stick way up away from the roof. I think it would look slick...

mine has the gutter kit drilled in, but it's under the rubber insulation so it doesn't matter...

i've hit my lightbar on tons of trees/etc and it's still tight and good.

you talking like this where the gutter kit is not needed? Its on a older truck that still had the gutters.

look into Carr light bars - I think they have a clip of some sort that connects to the "hidden" gutters on late models, under the upper door frame. Not sure how cheap they are, but they look to be very stout.

http://www.carr.com/lightbars.asp

EDIT - just took a closer look, it's their gutter-less mount kit; I can't say that i'd use it - requires drilling - unless it's drilling and mounting into a fiberglass cap, forget it for me.....each to his own though - if you want permanent clips and a stout mounting solution, might be a good product.
